The Communist Manifesto
"The Communist Manifesto," or as it was originally called, "The Manifesto of the Communist Party," is one of the most influential works of its time, and an influence of the Bolsheviks as they strived to change the government of Russia. "The Communist Manifesto" is a book that was co-written by Karl Marx (above right) and Frederick Engels. It was published in 1848 in Germany, and it was so controversial that it resulted in Marx being banned from Germany. This document may not be an object directly from the revolution, but it was certainly a major factor, as it influenced Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky, the ones who orchestrated the Bolshevik revolution. Few works were as influential as "The Communist Manifesto" in the twentieth century, and even fewer can say they influenced a revolution.
